About Us

Fusion Artistic Roller Skating Club was formed in September 2019 when Walsall ARSC merged with another figure and free skating club. In December 2019, Chase ARSC, a roller dance skating club, joined our skating family. Below is a history of the clubs:
Chase Artistic Roller Skating Club – Coming soon
Walsall Artistic Roller Skating Club was formed in January 2013 following the sudden death of our beloved head coach and founder Joan Preston.
Joan had taught Roller Skating at the Alumwell Community School for over 30 years. Prior to that she taught at Wolverhampton Roller Skating Club based at Whispering Wheels, Temple Street, Wolverhampton ( c. 1970-1982) and Birmingham Olympic Roller Skating Club based at the Mecca Roller Rink, Springhill, Birmingham (c. 1965 – 1970)
Joan’s family, coaches, skaters and parents were keen for the club to continue. The decision to change the name was a hard one, however, it was felt that Joan WAS Alumwell Roller Skating Club and it could never be the same without her. In addition to this Alumwell Community School had recently changed it’s name to the West Walsall E-Act Academy and Joan had been considering the name change herself. Joan remains with us in our club logo. (taken from a photograph when she completed internationally in the 1960’s)
The club is run by a dedicated team of volunteers who are all passionate about artistic roller skating. All coaches are DBS checked.
